Devlog #4: Goal, dash and more

We are CazuelaGames: cstammp, Kechumax, and xner2000. We're developing Biot-Savart, a 2D platformer where you control a robot that navigates through a laboratory using electromagnetism to interact with platforms and enemies.
What We Have So Far
Last devlog, we implemented various features to enhance the gameplay experience. We added a level selector, allowing players to choose levels from a level selection menu, allowing more flexible exploration of the game. We also implemented basic sound effects (SFX) for actions like jumping, selecting buttons, dying, and defeating enemies, making the game feel more responsive and immersive. Additionally, we expanded the physics system by introducing directional gravity—now, gravity can pull the player not only downward but also sideways. This opens up new possibilities for level design, enabling more creative and challenging puzzle-platforming scenarios.
New Features Added
Dash:
Now the character can dash to the sides by pressing 'e' while moving, this provides a short burst of speed and allows for quicker movement and precision dodging, essential for tight platforming sections and avoiding enemies.
Coyote time:
We added Coyote time mechanic, a short grace period after leaving a platform during which the player can still jump. This makes platforming smoother and more forgiving, enhancing overall game feel.
More levels:
Two new levels have been added, designed to showcase and integrate the new dash and gravity mechanics. These levels are accessible from the level selector menu.

Goal:
The levels now have a goal sprite at the end, making it clear where do you have to go.

Incoming updates:
